• MLK Prayer and Gathering
    We assembled in the chapel of San Damiano Retreat Center to hear song, Scripture, the words of Dr. King, and parishioner testimonies. Nadege Alexis sings Sarah Townley speaks on the theme of unity. Sarah Townley reflects on unity in light of her faith and her own life experiences. Author Sabas Whittaker recites one of his original poems in honor of Martin Luther King, Mohandas Gandhi, and the prophetic freedom fighters of our times. Brother Anthony reads an invocation for unity in diversity, and toleration of God-given difference, written by Rabbi Jeffrey Gale of Hebrew Tabernacle, Washington Heights.
  • Homeless Outreach Winter 2020
    Food, clothing, and God's love in a small package. Twenty volunteers prepared tote bags with food and amenities and went out into the streets to visit our neighbors.   • Climate Strike
    Dozens of activists gathered outside Rep. Adriano Espaillat's district office in Washington Heights on a cold Friday morning. Police were friendly to us, and Espaillat's staff bought us coffee and donuts. State Sen. Robert Jackson encourages the assembly. Brother Anthony with his peers: Rev.     From our statement: We gathered at Inwood Hill Park on Oct. 17 for the 400 Years of Inequality candlelight vigil. About 60 members of the community gathered at the entrance of Inwood Hill Park.   • Prayer for the Earth
    Our group gathered in the Sept. 11 Memorial Garden with electric candles and the light within each person. The friars welcomed members of the parish and community to our prayer.
